On Friday 28 March 2014, the Junior College will be holding ‘Next Stop… Junior College 2014’.

The Junior College Library, in collaboration with Graphic Novels Library Malta will be hosting a number of activities aimed at present and prospective students, with the aim of promoting education through graphic novels.

Graphic Novels Library Malta, who will be celebrating their 1st year anniversary, is a group working towards creating a library collection of Graphic Novels / Comics and Pop culture related books. Its mission statement is: Education through Comics and Pop Culture.

5:30 – A presentation / discussion about the different ways to tell a story using Graphic Novels and Comic Books (speaker: Audrienne Degiorgio – freelance designer, comic book creator, and co-creator of the graphic novel Pilot)

6:30 – A presentation / discussion about what it means to be a young female published author in Malta (speaker: Julia Pollaco – JC student age 17/young author of the recently published book of poetry, My little book of secrets)

7:30 – A presentation / discussion about the different stages of the creation of a comic book as a creator and as part of a collaboration (speaker: Dean Fenech – local teacher and comic book author and publisher of the graphic novel Apocalypse Rocked)

From 5:30-8:30 the speakers will be available to meet and talk the public. They will also be signing copies of their work
