Wicked Comics” very own vice president Chris Le Galle and co-writer of The Golden Lizard (the first graphic novel published in Malta) will be running a talk/workshop on comic writing. The workshop which is titled Comic Writing: Creativity Unleashed will be one of a variety of talks/workshops tackling various aspects of writing, editing and publishing which will take place as part of the writing conference organised by The Writers Club (TWC), Malta.
The conference is called Black White and Read All Over, and will take place on Saturday 14th April and Sunday 15th April 2012 at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, Qawra between 8.45am till 3.15pm and 9am till 3.30pm respectively.
Chris Le Galle”s segment will take place on Saturday 14th April between 2pm and 2.45pm.
In his session Chris will discuss the following:
What are Comics? – The difference between the various formats, from strips to graphic novels,
Some basic principles of good writing,
Comics as a visual medium – Tips on writing specifically for comics.
The two main approaches to comic writing; the Full Script and Plot, Art, Dialogue – choosing the right approach and
Writing for the artist and for the reader – what it entails.
The session will end with an exercise in comic writing which highlights the creativity of the medium.
