Coventry based graphic novelist Al Davison, artist on comics featuring Dr Who and Hellblazer among others is the latest guest to be announced as attending The Birmingham Comics Festival on Saturday 18th April 2015 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

TV host and all-round media celebrity has described Al Davison as being: “One of the most consistently original and thought-provoking creators working in comics today.” While author Neil Gaiman has likened his work to:”A religious experience, akin to dreaming with your eyes open.” Indeed, the artist has been turning heads and reaping applause since the debut of his autobiographical graphic novel The Spiral Cage and continued to push boundaries while equally entertaining comic book fans drawing the likes of The Dreaming and Hellblazer for DC ComicsVertigo imprint and Dr Who for IDW Publishing.“It would be remiss of us not to invite a creator from our neighbouring city to The Birmingham Comics Festival and a tragedy not to ask someone as talented as Al Davison,” said the festival’s organisers. “So we did, and we know Al’s fans will enjoy seeing him as much as we will.” Currently illustrating the 17th century thriller graphic novel Blood Light for Renegade Entertainment and continuing to develop work of an autobiographical nature with Muscle Memory, A Survivor’s Tale, Al Davison will be signing, sketching, offering original art and chatting with fans at The Birmingham Comics Festival on Saturday 18th April 2015 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground
