Bluewater Productions released new comic book biographies focusing on political and military subjects: American Defenders: The U.S. Air Force, Political Power: General David Petraeus, and Female Force: Conservative Women of Politics.
Most of us have heard his name. Most have seen his face. But until now, his story has been a mystery. General David Petraeus has been a leader of men, and his name has become synonymous in recent years with the American war effort. Join the top-selling comic series Political Power and get an up-close look at the man himself. Written by CW Cooke and Michael L. Frizell and illustrated by acclaimed artist James Bolton, Political Power: General David Petraeus will feature a special cover by famed comic book legend Joe Phillips. About General Petraeus, Frizell states, “He’s a fascinating figure. Though missteps in his personal life forced him to step down from his position as Director of the CIA in 2012, his heroic service remains untarnished.”
Female Force is a series that features biographies on strong, independent women in the world of politics. Female Force: Conservative Women of Politics is a 96-page graphic novel written by John Blundell, CW Cooke, Michael Troy, and Jerome Maida with art by Todd Tenant, Luciano Kars, Manuel Díaz and a cover by Jaume Font. This graphic novel includes stories on Ayn Rand, Nancy Reagan, Laura Ingraham, and Michele Bachmann. The graphic novel retails in print for $17.99 and digitally for $9.99.
It’s off we go into the wild blue yonder to discover the origins from the most amazing air force in the world. From the use of balloons during Civil War for spying on the enemy, the fabled dunes of Kitty Hawk, to the high-tech aircraft and exploits of today, American Defenders: The U.S. Air Force shows how the United States Air Force keeps skies over our country safe and how they helped defeat any and all enemies both foreign and domestic. American Defenders: The U.S. Air Force is a special-length 32 pages written by Don Smith with art by Jon Stanicek.
A collected edition of the American Defenders features all issues of the comic book series. Includes the biographies of the United States: Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy. American Defenders: The Untied States Military is released on July 30th.
In the past Bluewater has featured subjects as Ronald Reagan, Ted Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, The U.S. Army, Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, subjects carefully selected by founder and publisher Darren Davis. “Comic books are a great way for kids to read about famous people and important topics in an engaging medium that open pathways to understanding the importance of these topics to the world,” added Davis. “Our biography comic books are now taught in schools and libraries for students and reluctant readers.”
