This year the Wicked Comics crew are excited to have from Denmark Ms. Femi Taylor. An accomplished dancer who has spread her talents into acting and singing, Nigerian-born Femi Taylor is best known to Star Wars fans world-wide as doomed dancer Oola in “Return of the Jedi.” The popularity of the Star Wars films and their continued “cult-status” has allowed Femi to become one of the “cult” stars in the film industry. The portrayal of Oola has not only given everlasting status to the character, but to the actress, too.

Hailing from Italy, there is also Dajla, better known as Aleeusha a cosplayer and gamer. She started cosplaying in 2013, through her interest in the famous MOBA game League of Legends. She believes that Cosplay and E-Games are related and is strongly passionate about both worlds. Aleeusha has actively participated in the majority of LOL events including Gamescom where she was a Riot Games guest and has thus strengthened her involvement in both the cosplay and gaming communities.

Other guests for this year’s edition of the Malta Comic Con include Alessandro Micelli and David ‘Max’ Millgate.

Alessandro Micelli comic book artist and concept artist from Italy, class 81. After few collaborations with Italian Publishers, he start working on the U.S. market as Comic Artist for Oni Press on the miniseries “The Ballad of Sang” written by Ed Brisson, for Chido Comics on “Solar and Super Astro Los Cadets del Espacio” and actually for Valiant on Bloodshot. In Italy, he drew a oneshot for the magazine “Comic and Science” script by Licia Troisi. He has an upcoming project: a new series of mini comics for Panda Mony, new Toy Brand.

David ‘Max’ Millgate‘s career has spanned over 28 years, working in comic books, computer games, films, television and also the music industry. He’s produced artwork for the BBC, Universal Studios, Lionsgate Films, Heavy Metal Magazine, Sci-Fi Now Magazine, Sumo Games, Zoemode Games, Rebellion Ltd, Imagine Publishing, Alchemy Carta, Games Workshop, 2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine. Including Judge Dredd, Mean Machine Angel, Outlaw, Brit-Cit Brute and The Dark Judges. He’s also the co-creator of the series Sinister/Dexter with writer Dan Abnett. His WWII/Supernatural Horror story ‘Jackboot & Ironheel’ was recently published by IDW as a 4-part comic book series and later as a graphic novel. David served as both writer and artist on the project. He is currently working on an epic painting project for New York Symphonic Metal band Homerik. His work will be published as an art book released in conjunction with the concept LP ‘The Circle of Dead Children’, which is based on the classic Dante’s Inferno.

Joining these international artists, various local artists have joined the ranks of the Malta Comic Con 2019: Christine Mizzi, Jana Frost, Kimberly Azzopardi, Ivan Xuereb and Joseph Bugeja.

Christine Mizzi is a veteran to the Malta Comic Con and browsing through her wide array of manga/ anime reproductions, portraits, and sci-fi art, and you gain a ticket to a wondrous, cosmic voyage.

Jana is a Belarusian/Estonian artist currently based in Malta who creates pop-art digital collages that are imbued with a strong retro vibe. She will be showcasing her art at the Malta Comic Con for the first time.

Kimberly Azzopardi is a returning artist to the Malta Comic Con who is currently working at Heritage Malta as an illustrator and has developed her own manga influenced style.

Ivan Xuereb is a writer and has participated in numerous editions of the Malta Comic Con. He has written episodes for the Maltese tele-drama, Maskra, and Taht, a comic book that explores adventures in Maltese folk tales launching in Autumn 2019.

Joseph Bugeja another veteran to the Malta Comic Con scene. Apart for being known for his paintings and long experience, recently Joseph held his 3rd solo exhibition titled GRIM TALES at Casino Notabile, Rabat, Malta.
