Recently I enjoyed myself watching the animated DVD, Batman: Under the Red Hood, based on the story presented in these 2 volumes. This prompted me to buy the original source material as I wondered if this was up to the film standards. As usual the comic book material is much richer and detailed on the storyline and characterization. I do not want to spoil the story, but there are some differences on the resurrection of a certain character (as in comics no one stays dead forever). These are better explained and integrated in the DC universe continuity. Both writer Judd Winick and artist Doug Mahnke have proved themselves in surprising me with their excellent work. This is a must have to all Batman fans as this is another turning point in his fictional life. Beware, coming back from the dead is not always a good news!
