The Luna brothers are amazing storytellers and I recommend all their previous publications. Their simple stories are usually centered around female characters within an extraordinary. The 4 volumes of The Sword are as usual one whole complete straightforward and easy to read, story that is quite flowing. This time, the main character is wheelchair bound college student Dara Brighton, which goes through a horrible experience of watching her family slaughtered. She soon finds a powerful and magical Sword. With some help she gets to find the secret history of the Sword and the reasons behind the murders. This takes her to a journey of vengeance, mythology, violence, deceit and twists. Although the art style is not a detailed one this is quite descriptive especially when illustrating violence and gore. So be warned this comic contains mature themes because of the language, violence and sexual situations. Luna borthers, what’s next?
